We clean area rugs, outdoor cushions, Oriental rugs, and small upholstered pieces at our facility! They can be dropped off anytime Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Curbside drop-off and pickup are available. No appointment is needed. We do offer pickup and delivery for a fee. Please call or email our office to schedule a pickup appointment.

Some area rugs can be cleaned in your home. They will be cleaned according to our carpet cleaning procedures. Some rugs, however, should not be cleaned on location due to inherent cleaning dynamics and certain soiling conditions. Unknowledgeable carpet cleaners may needlessly ruin a rug by simply not knowing the potential problems of certain rugs.

Our Rug Cleaning Process

For a thorough cleaning of your fine rugs, The Clean Team will pick your rugs up and clean them in a specially designed facility. In-plant cleaning offers many advantages: Having the rug in the plant allows us to give it several treatments for a more thorough cleaning, controlled drying, and the use of various tools that are not available on location. Your rug will be cleaned according to the following important steps:

Pre-inspection and pickup - We will determine as much as we possibly can about the type of rug and inherent qualities that may affect cleaning. We will outline the expected results and cleaning “prescription.” Our company will come to your home to pick up your rug or you may drop it at our facility.
Dry soil removal - Woven rugs, especially hand-knotted rugs are designed to hide dry soil. A few years ago, the Eureka company did a study and found that a 9 x 12 could hide five pounds of dirt! We use a variety of techniques to “dust” the rugs from the front and back. A machine called the ™Rug Badger and many other methods are implemented. This is the most important step in cleaning any textile.
Pre-condition - Depending on fiber content and soiling type, the rug will be pre-treated to emulsify the soil.
Pre-spot and fringe preparation - Any potentially difficult spot will be pre-treated with special solutions to increase the chances of removal. The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal.
Shampoo - Most rugs are cleaned with an Oriental rug shampoo that is specially designed to get maximum cleaning while protecting sensitive natural fibers.
Rinse - Depending on the type of rug, it will be rinsed with extraction equipment on both sides.
Dry - Once the soil is rinsed away, the rug is dried flat or hung to dry in a controlled environment. Proper drying is essential to avoid unnatural shrinkage and dye migration.
Finishing - When the rug is dry, it is combed and finished with soft groomers made for specialty rugs.
Post-inspection and delivery - Our cleaning specialist will give the rug a final inspection and release it for pick up or delivery.

Do You Have A Pad for Your Area Rug?

A rug will retain its "like new" appearance anywhere from 15 to 50% longer than a rug with no pad.
A pad under a rug allows more airflow when vacuuming is performed which results in greater efficiency in the vacuuming, providing a higher degree of dry soil removal from the rug.
