Natural stone countertops and vanities can last a lifetime, but they also can become dirty and dull from use and improper cleaning. Even newly installed countertops can have epoxy film and fabrication residue still on them. Epoxy is used to seal up the tiny nooks and crannies in the stone. This film is not easily removed with household cleaners, causing your new granite or marble to look dull from the start.

Older countertops can have a build-up from daily use of cleaning products that has left layers of residue over the years. Not to mention the bacteria from food and drink that has worked its way into the stone’s surface over time.

For years our customers have asked us if we can help—we heard you! Let us take care of your stone surfaces just like we have taken care of your carpet and upholstery for over 40 years. All of our technicians are trained and certified by the IICRC to handle all aspects when it comes to your natural stone. The Clean Team can remove those ugly blemishes and return your stone to like new condition.

We use diamond-encrusted pads to polish your counter and floors to reveal that deep shine. Do you have watermarks, rings from glasses, or rings from cleaning products on your counters or marble floor? Do you have scratches on your stone counters or floors? We can hone or polish these blemishes out and restore your stone surfaces to like new.

The Difference Between Polishing and Honing

  • Polishing of tile and stone surfaces
  • Is done after or in conjunction with cleaning.
  • It uses various liquids, powders, and creams in conjunction with various pads and applicators to restore the shine to a stone’s surface and even out its appearance.
  • Polishing may remove minor etching.
  • Polishing will not remove scratches or stains.
  • Honing of tile or stone surfaces
  • By using diamond honing pads and various other abrasive tools any old polish is broken and removed along with a very fine layer of stone.
  • Then through many steps and processes using finer and finer pads/diamonds the stone is honed back to the desired level of “shine”.
  • At this point, the stone is then polished to achieve the desired results.
  • Honing will remove some not all scratches. Deeper scratches may require further repairs.
  • Honing may remove some staining but not all.
